Power of attorney signed in Thailand for use in United Arab Emirates

The UAE does not use the Apostille route for Thai documents, so the full legalisation chain still applies, and Arabic translations usually must come from a translator registered with the UAE Ministry of Justice.

Steps in the chain3 steps, excluding the queue at the receiving body

The certification chain step by step

  1. Sign before a Notarial Services Attorney.
  2. Certify at the Department of Consular Affairs, then legalise at the UAE embassy in Thailand.
  3. On arrival, attest at MOFAIC and translate into Arabic through a registered legal translator.

Common use cases

Before you start

  1. Allow several weeks for the multi-layer chain.
  2. Check whether the recipient wants a single bilingual document.

Cautions and common rejection causes

We pre-check files to reduce the chance of rejection; the receiving authority alone decides acceptance.
