Power of attorney signed in Thailand for use in Germany

Germany is strict on form. Some acts — GmbH share transfers, land transactions — require notarial recording (notarielle Beurkundung) before a Notar, not mere signature certification, and translations usually must be a beglaubigte Übersetzung.

Steps in the chain3 steps, excluding the queue at the receiving body

The certification chain step by step

  1. Confirm with the German Notar or lawyer whether signature certification or full notarial recording is required.
  2. Where signature certification suffices, signing at the German embassy in Thailand may be possible.
  3. Use a sworn translator the embassy accepts.

Common use cases

Before you start

  1. Book the embassy appointment early; queues are long.
  2. Bring the German-language draft prepared by the German side.

Cautions and common rejection causes

We pre-check files to reduce the chance of rejection; the receiving authority alone decides acceptance.
