When Do You Need a Thai Police Clearance?
Every destination country requires a police clearance from every country where you have lived more than 6 months (some count from age 18). If you have been a Phuket resident on any visa — Retirement, ED, Non-B, Smart, Marriage, LTR, DTV — you will need one when you apply for:
- US Green Card / Immigrant Visa (CR-1, IR-1, K-1, EB-5)
- Canadian Permanent Residency / Spousal Sponsorship (IRCC)
- Australian Partner Visa (309/820), Skilled Migration (482/186/189)
- New Zealand Resident Visa / Skilled Migrant Category
- UK Spousal Visa, Settlement, Citizenship (ILR/NLV)
- EU long-stay & permanent residence (Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands)
- Citizenship by Investment (Malta, Caribbean) and most second-passport programs
