The Universal 5-Step Shape
Every destination country's marriage registrar wants roughly the same evidence bundle from the Thai partner — the only variables are the language, the number of MFA-legalised copies, and the embassy pre-clearance step.
- Step 1: Single Status Certificate (Nang Suu Rap Rong Sathana Bukkhon) — issued by your Amphur in Phuket
- Step 2: MFA legalisation OR Apostille — from 28 Feb 2027, Apostille replaces the double-legalisation dance for 130+ Hague states
- Step 3: Sworn / certified translation into the destination's court-accepted language
- Step 4: Embassy pre-clearance (only some countries) — DE Ehefähigkeitszeugnis, CH Ehevorbereitung, IT nulla osta, TW TECO interview
- Step 5: Post-wedding Kor.Ror.22 filing — makes the marriage recognised in Thailand and unlocks spouse visa applications
