Filing order at a glance
Request position approval in the BOI e-Expert system → receive the approval letter → complete visa and work permit at the One Stop Service Centre.
Conditions you must meet
- The company must hold a valid BOI promotion certificate and the position must fall within the approved headcount.
- The general capital and Thai-staff ratio tests are replaced by the conditions attached to the promotion certificate.
- Qualifications and experience must match the approved position.
Documents to prepare
- BOI promotion certificate and the position-approval letter.
- Passport with a valid visa.
- Degree certificate, experience letters and employment contract.
- Corporate documents required by the One Stop Service Centre.
Process
- The company requests position approval through e-Expert.
- Once approved, visa and work permit are processed at the One Stop Service Centre, which combines Immigration and Department of Employment counters.
- Renew according to the approved period and notify changes of position or termination.
Common pitfalls
- Starting work before the position is approved in e-Expert.
- Actual duties differing from the approved position.
- Missing renewal cycles under the promotion certificate, which need not match the visa cycle.
