Thai Notary Phuket coordinates NAATI-certified Thai-to-English translations through a network of CPN-accredited translators registered in Australia. Every translation carries the NAATI stamp, translator ID, signature and date — the exact format required by DHA (subclass 189/190/491/482/186/500/600/820/801), VETASSESS skill assessments, university admissions and AHPRA registration. Turnaround 3–7 working days, hard copy delivered to your Phuket address, scanned PDF emailed same-day.

What NAATI Certification Means for Your Australian Visa
NAATI — the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters — is the sole credentialing body recognised by every Australian government department for translation services. When the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) instructs visa applicants to submit ‘English translations of all non-English documents’, the standard followed in practice is a translation produced by a NAATI-certified practitioner whose stamp, ID and signature appear on every page.
Translations issued by non-NAATI translators are technically accepted ‘outside Australia’ under DHA policy, but in reality skilled migration case officers, VETASSESS assessors and Australian universities almost always reject or query them. Restarting the translation step in the middle of a visa application typically costs four to eight weeks and can push you past a visa cap or qualification expiry — which is exactly why nearly every serious applicant from Phuket chooses NAATI from the start.
Our Phuket office is the local fulfilment hub: you drop off (or send by Kerry) your Thai-language originals, we coordinate with the NAATI-accredited translator panel based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, and the stamped hard-copy is couriered back to your address in Patong, Cherngtalay, Rawai, Chalong or any marina within 3–7 working days.
Common Thai Documents Translated for Australia
Australian visa subclasses and assessment bodies each have their own document checklists. Below is the document inventory we translate most often from Phuket clients, grouped by purpose.
- Birth certificate (สูติบัตร), house registration (ทะเบียนบ้าน), national ID (บัตรประชาชน) — required for partner, family and child visas.
- Marriage certificate (ทะเบียนสมรส) and divorce certificate (ทะเบียนหย่า / ใบสำคัญการหย่า) — for partner visa subclass 309/100 and 820/801.
- Police clearance certificate (หนังสือรับรองความประพฤติ) issued by the Royal Thai Police — for all visa subclasses requiring character checks.
- Academic transcripts (ใบรับรองผลการเรียน / ปพ.1) and degree certificates (ใบปริญญาบัตร) — for student visa 500, skilled migration and TRA / VETASSESS skill assessment.
- Employment certificates (หนังสือรับรองการทำงาน), payslips and tax returns (ภงด.91) — for skilled migration 189/190/491 and employer-sponsored 482/186.
- Medical records, vaccination certificates and AHPRA-related licensing — for healthcare worker registration.
- Business documents — DBD company certificate, audited financial statements, shareholder lists — for Business Innovation visa 188/888.
- Bank statements and proof of funds — for student and visitor visas.
How the Phuket-to-Australia Workflow Runs
Most Phuket clients are juggling a visa lodgement deadline, an employer’s onboarding date or a university intake. Our workflow is built around that pressure: predictable timing, no surprises, and complete English-language communication.
What the NAATI Translation Looks Like When You Receive It
Every NAATI translation we deliver follows the format the Australian Department of Home Affairs and the major assessment bodies expect. On the front page you receive the translator’s NAATI stamp (with the unique practitioner number), the direction of translation (Thai → English), the certified date, the translator’s signature and a statement of accuracy. Every subsequent page carries a smaller stamp and the page number. The original Thai document is reproduced face-to-face with the English translation, so the assessor can verify the layout matches.
We deliver two formats in every order: (1) the wet-stamped hard-copy original couriered by Kerry or EMS to your Phuket address (required by DHA for some paper-based submissions), and (2) a high-resolution colour PDF emailed within hours of the translator finishing — for ImmiAccount online uploads, VETASSESS portal uploads and university applications. The PDF format we provide passes every known file-size and resolution check from the major Australian portals.
Australian Authorities & Visa Subclasses We Serve Weekly
Below is the live list of Australian institutions our Phuket clients have lodged NAATI-translated documents with in the last 12 months. If your target authority is not listed, contact us — we have almost certainly handled it before.
- Department of Home Affairs — subclasses 189, 190, 491, 482, 186, 500, 600, 820/801, 309/100, 858, 188/888.
- VETASSESS — Skill Assessment for non-trade occupations (accountant, marketing, ICT, etc.).
- Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) — for chefs, mechanics, electricians and building trades.
- AHPRA — for nurses, doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and allied health.
- Engineers Australia — for civil, mechanical, electrical and software engineers.
- Australian Computer Society (ACS) — for ICT skill assessments.
- Universities — UNSW, Sydney, Monash, Melbourne, ANU, UQ, RMIT, UTS, Deakin, Macquarie, Curtin, UWA.

Mistakes That Get NAATI Translations Rejected
Even with a NAATI-certified translator, applications still get sent back when small details are wrong. We pre-check every job against the most common rejection reasons before the stamp goes on the page.
- Translating from a poor-quality scan instead of the original — Australian assessors want every Thai character clearly visible side-by-side.
- Missing pages — Thai house registrations (ทะเบียนบ้าน) often have additional pages with name change records; all pages must be translated even if blank.
- Name transliteration mismatches — your translated name must exactly match the name in your passport, not the literal phonetic translation of your Thai name.
- Outdated police clearance — Australian visa lodgement requires the police certificate to be less than 12 months old at the time of decision.
- Missing ‘ใบปริญญาบัตร’ alongside ‘ปริญญาบัตร’ — both the transcript and the degree certificate are needed; many applicants only translate one.
Phuket Pickup, Drop-Off and Delivery
We have streamlined the local logistics for Phuket clients to minimise back-and-forth. You can drop off originals at our Phuket Town or Patong office, send them by Grab / LINE Man motorbike courier, or upload high-resolution scans through our secure portal if originals are not required (some translators accept high-quality scans for translation purposes). The wet-stamped hard-copy is then couriered back by Kerry (next-day to most addresses on the island) or EMS for cost-sensitive jobs.
For clients in Laguna, Bang Tao, Mai Khao, Surin or any of the marinas, we run a Tuesday and Friday motorbike pickup route — book before noon the day before and we collect your originals from your villa or office.

คำถามที่พบบ่อย
Is a Thai sworn translator the same as a NAATI translator?
No. Thai sworn translators (recognised by Thailand’s Ministry of Justice) are accepted by Thai courts and Thai government agencies. NAATI is the Australian standard and is the de-facto requirement for any Australian visa, university or skills assessment body. For Australia, always use NAATI.
Do I need the hard-copy with the wet NAATI stamp, or is the PDF enough?
For online lodgement through ImmiAccount, the colour PDF is accepted. For physical lodgements, AHPRA registration packs and certain university applications, the hard-copy with wet stamp is required. We deliver both as standard.
How long is a NAATI translation valid?
The translation itself does not expire — it remains valid as long as the underlying Thai document is current. Note that some source documents (police clearance, financial statements) do expire and must be re-issued and re-translated.
Can you translate documents I have already scanned into PDF?
Yes — for most documents, a high-resolution colour scan (300 dpi, all four corners visible) is acceptable for the translator to work from. We still recommend sending the original by courier so the QA team can verify before stamping.
My passport spells my name differently from the literal Thai translation. Which version is used?
Always your passport spelling. We use the exact transliteration that appears on your Thai passport — this is the version DHA cross-references. Send us a clear copy of your passport with every job.
Are NAATI translations from Phuket accepted by DHA?
Yes. NAATI accreditation is based on the translator, not the location of the office. A NAATI CPN translator in Sydney has the same legal standing as one in Brisbane, Perth or, in our case, coordinated through our Phuket fulfilment hub.
What if I have a non-standard document — a tribal birth certificate or a temple monk certificate?
We handle these regularly. The translator adds a translator’s note explaining the source format. For especially unusual documents, we recommend pairing the NAATI translation with a notarised affidavit of authenticity, which we can also issue from Phuket.
Can you translate from English back into Thai for the Australian Embassy in Bangkok?
Yes. NAATI accreditation is bidirectional — Thai → English and English → Thai. This is useful for translating Australian-issued police clearances, birth certificates and university transcripts for use in Thailand.
How does payment work for the NAATI translator overseas?
You pay our Phuket office in THB by bank transfer, Wise or credit card. We handle the AUD payment to the translator. You receive one Thai VAT invoice covering the full job.
Can I get a discount for a family bundle (partner visa)?
Yes. Partner visa bundles (typically birth, marriage, police, ID for two people) qualify for a bundled rate. Quote on request.
